Name

Morne Steffens

Chairman

Morne Steffens has been a proud resident of Ballito since 2008 and has played an active role in community safety and development for over a decade. He joined the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch Committee in 2015, serving in various portfolios before being appointed Chairman in 2021. Since 2020, he has also served on the Committee of the Community Policing Forum (CPF), further strengthening collaboration between local communities and law enforcement.

In addition to his community involvement, Morne is the founder and owner of MAST Recruitment, a niche recruitment company known for its personalized approach to talent sourcing and placement.

Lionel Stringer

Vice Chairman

Lionel Stringer is a dedicated community leader serving as Chairman of the Ward 6 Community Policing Forum (CPF). With a passion for serving others, Lionel has been actively involved with the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) since 2021, holding the position of Vice Chair and contributing as a patroller and committee member. A Ballito resident since early 2021, Lionel and his wife share a commitment to their community and profession, operating in the Real Estate industry.”

Jenny Steffens

Treasurer

Jenny Steffens relocated to Ballito in 2008 after spending many years in the banking industry in Gauteng. In 2015, she became actively involved in the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch, initially serving as Secretary in 2015 before taking on the roles of Treasurer and Membership Manager. Jenny is passionate about contributing to the community and enjoys participating in committee fundraisers and special projects.

Outside of her Neighbourhood Watch responsibilities, Jenny also serves as Secretary for MAST Recruitment.

Di Timberlake

Secretary

Di Timberlake made Ballito her home four years ago and has never looked back. As the Secretary of Ballito Neighbourhood Watch, she loves being an active part of the vibrant Ballito community and contributing to its safety and growth. Di is the owner of Strategy International, where she helps transform leaders and businesses with actionable and practical toolkits designed for real-world results. When she’s not empowering organizations, she enjoys family life with her husband Doug and their three sons, embracing the balance between professional purpose and personal joy.

Jenni Helberg

Projects and Fund Raising

Jenni is a dedicated Primary School teacher who has lived in Ballito for the past 13 years. She has been actively involved in the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch for several years and enjoys helping to organise local events and part of the Special Projects team. Passionate about community involvement, Jenni values working with people and plays an active role in keeping the neighbourhood connected and safe.

Samantha Basson

Photographer and Projects

Sam and her family have called the Dolphin Coast home for the last 17 years. For more than two years, she has been an engaged member of the BNW Committee, where she contributes to the Social Media & Marketing team. Alongside her committee involvement, Sam works full-time as a professional photographer at Precision Photography-Ballito.

Tash Wheal

Social Media

Tash Wheal has been part of the Ballito Neighbourhood Committee for the past two years, working within the Social Media and Marketing Portfolio. A graphic designer by trade, she brings creativity and a sharp eye for detail to the team. She also owns and runs Rug Doctor Pro North Coast. When she’s not juggling work and committee duties, Tash is a proud mom of two, balancing it all with energy and heart.

Wilna Stringer

Projects and Fundraising

Wilna Stringer is a dedicated resident of Ballito, having called the area home since 2021, alongside her husband. Wilna has provided crucial support to the community by assisting trauma cases with counseling for the Ward 6 Community Policing Forum (CPF), IPSS, and Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW). Professionally, Wilna is a Real Estate professional at KW Pivot, working alongside her husband to serve the Ballito community.

Flip Helberg

Cameras Custodian

Flip Helberg is a dedicated community advocate serving as Vice‑Chairman of the Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers Association (DOCRRA) and a key member of the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch. Professionally, he works in SCADA and electrical substation automation for the eThekwini Municipality. Known for his strong commitment to community safety and development, Flip has played an active role in coordinating safety responses during times of unrest and works tirelessly to improve neighbourhood well-being.
